13 Zamfara University Students Rescued, Seven Freed: Full List

The Joint Task Force of Operation Hadarin Daji has successfully rescued an additional seven female students from the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State. This development comes in the wake of a distressing incident where bandits attacked the university and abducted more than 20 students from their rented lodge in Sabon Gida, Bungudu Local Government Area of the state last Friday.

According to reports from Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the seven rescued students were accompanied by three male workers from Gupran Engineering Zervices Ltd.

This latest rescue operation adds to the six female students who were previously rescued on the same Friday, bringing the total number of students rescued to 13.

Here are the names of the recently freed students:

  1. Rukayya Sani Batola: Studying Chemistry – 200 Level, hailing from Zamfara.
  2. Merry Monday: Majoring in MCB – 300 Level.
  3. Maryam Salawuddeen: Studying Accounting – 300 Level, from Osun State.
  4. Salamatu Jummai Dahiru: Majoring in MCB – 200 Level.
  5. Fiddausi Abdulazeez: Pursuing Education in Biology – 200 Level.
  6. Amamatullahi Asabe Dahiru: Studying Education Chemistry – 200 Level.
  7. Ketora Bulus: Focused on Education in Physics – 100 Level, from Kaduna.
  8. Felicia Sunday: Majoring in Computer Science – 200 Level, from Osun State.
  9. Jamila Ahmad: Studying BCH – 200 Level, from Kogi.
  10. Aisha Aminu Ujong: Completed her Education in Physics, hailing from Cross River.
  11. Mariya Abdulrahman Usman: Majoring in English – 400 Level, from Katsina.
  12. Usaina Abdulrahman: Pursuing Education in English – 100 Level, from Katsina.
  13. Saadatu Aminu Abubakar: Focused on Education in Biology.

The successful rescue operations by the Joint Task Force bring hope and relief to the families of these abducted students and underscore the importance of continued efforts to ensure the safety and security of educational institutions in the region.
