In Katsina State, about 26 people were killed and 2 injured in a recent bandit attack.
The attack, which took place on June 10, 2024, targeted villages in Kankara Local Government Area of the state.
The Katsina State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Sadiq Abubakar, said in a press statement that the gunmen riding on motorcycles descended upon Gidan Boka village, killing 15 innocent villagers.
They also ambushed a police patrol team responding to the distress call near Kurmeji village, killing four police officers, three inspectors, and two members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC).
They also killed five more villagers as they escaped through Dan Nakwabo village to their hideouts.
