Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced that approximately 200 units of semi-detached, detached, fully detached duplexes, and terraces under construction at the Muhammadu Buhari Estate in Abeokuta are at advanced stages of completion and will be delivered before the end of the year. The Governor made this announcement during an inspection of the ongoing construction at the estate located along Kobape Road, Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun revealed that some of the buildings under construction have been fully paid for, while part payments have been made for others. He emphasized the need for the contractors to accelerate their work to meet the completion deadline.
The Muhammadu Buhari Estate is one of the inherited projects from the previous administration and is being developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Under this model, the state government provides the land and necessary infrastructure, while contractors, real estate companies, and builders construct the structures and sell them. This initiative is designed to provide affordable housing options to the state’s residents.
Governor Abiodun expressed his satisfaction with the success of the PPP initiative and emphasized that trust and confidence in the administration have played a significant role in attracting private sector partners. He also noted that Ogun State has made significant progress in improving its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) drive, ranking number one among all states in this regard.
The completion of the housing units in the Muhammadu Buhari Estate will provide more housing options for the people of Ogun State and contribute to the state’s development and progress.
