A 26-year-old woman, Omorogbe Soni, faced charges of assault after a video captured her assaulting a policewoman in Ajah on February 21, 2024. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed her arraignment and subsequent remand.
The incident unfolded during a heated argument between Soni and the policewoman, culminating in Soni pushing her, causing the officer to fall. In response to this incident, the Lagos State Police Command presented Soni before the Etiosa Magistrates’ Court in Ajah on February 22, 2024.
Soni has been remanded in the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre pending the next court hearing scheduled for March 27, 2024. The spokesperson for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, issued a statement on his X account, saying, “Omorogbe was arraigned the following day, February 22, 2024, at the Etiosa Magistrate Court, Ajah, and has been remanded to the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre till the next hearing on March 27, 2024.”
The statement also emphasized the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to uphold law and order, urging citizens to remain law-abiding in their daily activities. The command warned that anyone found guilty of violating the law would be dealt with in accordance with legal provisions.
What was the cause of the argument and assult? Cause someone cannot wake up in the morning and assult a police officer
Funny how people are only concentrating on the fact that she pushed the police officer. The officer was about to puncture her tyres!!
The arguement probably escalated to this level because the officer didn’t get the #200 she asked for.
