According to the Rivers State Police Command, their officers have detained 13 people, including four soldiers, on suspicion of armed robbery, stealing food trucks, and driving them to other locations.
A member of the syndicate and an agent of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps were among those detained in connection with the illegal act, according to the police.
Grace Iringe-Koko, the command’s spokesperson, revealed this in a statement on Monday in Port Harcourt.
She claimed that two of the initial group of detained operatives left their jobs in Delta and Kogi states, respectively, to commit crimes in Rives State, and that their admission prompted the prosecution of other operatives and their civilian accomplices.
“The police arrived on the scene quickly and detained five criminals who had been badly battered by the crowd.
