On October 17, 2023, Taofeek Ibikunle came before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osogbo, Osun State, for allegedly breaking a perimeter fence at a construction site in the Elizabeth Estate, Abere, that was valued more than N25 million.
Sometime in July 2023, 43-year-old Ibikunle allegedly threatened to kill one Badmus Oladapo and dispatched thugs to attack him where he was working in the estate in Elizabeth Estate Abere.
The allegation brought against the defendant stated, in part, “That you, Ibikunle Taofeek, and others now at large conspired to conduct crime to wit threat to life and malicious damage sometime in July 2023 at Elizabeth Estate Abere in the Osogbo Magisterial District.
“That you, Ibikunle Taofeek, and others now at large on the same date, place, and at the aforementioned magisterial district did threaten the life of one Badmus Oladapo through the phone and send thugs to where he was working.
According to Sections 516 and 451 of the Criminal Code Cap, 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002, the offenses committed were against the law and were punishable.
To the four counts of the accusation, the defendant entered a not guilty plea.
He was granted bail in the amount of N500,000 by the presiding magistrate, Segun Ayilara, who also postponed the hearing to November 21, 2023.
