The United States (USA)  made a flying start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a dominant 4-1 victory over Paraguay in Los Angeles. An early own goal from Damian Bobadilla gave the hosts the lead before Folarin Balogun scored twice to put the game beyond reach before half-time.

Christian Pulisic was at the heart of the United State Of America attacking display, creating chances and helping drive the team forward. Paraguay pulled one goal back through Mauricio in the second half, but the Americans remained in control throughout the contest.

Substitute Giovanni Reyna capped off an impressive night with a brilliant late goal to seal the 4-1 win. The result equals the USA’s biggest-ever World Cup victory and provides a huge boost to their hopes of making a deep run in the tournament.
