Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has revealed the personal sacrifices she made while working on her latest movie, Behind The Scenes, which has grossed ₦2.7 billion. She said she gave up her social life, neglected personal care, and devoted herself completely to making the film a success.

Speaking during an interview with BellaNaija, Funke Akindele explained that she stopped attending parties, visiting friends, and even making her hair unless it was for important events. She added that the project demanded sleepless nights, long working hours, and sometimes made her forget to eat, but she believes the sacrifices have paid off.

The award-winning filmmaker also shared that her success was built on years of learning, prayer, and constant improvement. According to her, achieving such milestones required re-strategising, re-evaluating, and giving her best, adding that she is now taking time to rest and focus on herself.
