Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has been ordered by Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, to appear in court within a week.
The application for Mr. Emefiele’s bail would be handled soon, according to Mr. Emefiele’s attorney, Joseph Dawodu SAN.
Mr. Emefiele was detained in Lagos on June 10 and transported by air to the SSS headquarters.
One day after President Bola Tinubu had suspended the head of the central bank of Nigeria bank from duty, he was arrested.
The SSS had earlier charged Mr. Emefiele with financing terrorism, which included, among other things, subsidizing the operations of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
