Afrobeats superstar Davido has declared that he would win any election in Nigeria if the country’s electoral process was free, fair and transparent. Speaking during a livestream with comedian Carter Efe, the award-winning singer said he has no immediate plans to venture into politics because he believes election outcomes are often manipulated and do not always reflect the will of the people.

Responding to questions about contesting for public office, Davido said he would not accept being denied victory through unfair electoral practices, insisting that he would rather focus on his music career until the system becomes more credible. He added that if Nigerians were allowed to vote freely and every vote counted, he is confident no opponent would be able to defeat him in any election, including the presidency.

The singer also expressed concern over the country’s electoral process, alleging that election results are sometimes predetermined instead of reflecting voters’ choices. Davido further revealed that he is closely monitoring political developments ahead of the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, saying he is eager to see how the electoral process unfolds.
