A magistrates’ court in Kaduna State’s Pada district remanded a man, Abdulkudus Yusuf, for inflicting injuries on his wife, Sa’adatu Habibu.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Sa’idu Baban Ja’eh, committed the individual to a detention facility until the matter is heard on August 15, 2023.
He was charged with using excessive force against his wife, causing her arms to fracture and significant injuries to her body.
According to the prosecution, ASP Sarki Abdullahi, on July 29, 2023, a man named Abdullahi Habibu submitted a complaint at the Pada Division alleging that the accused attempted to murder his sister by breaking her limbs, stabbing her with a bottle, and attempting to slit her breasts.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the accusations while affirming his mental fitness.
Meanwhile, the wife was reportedly receiving treatment at Zaria’s Wusasa Hospital.
