Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, recently disclosed the reason why his teachings often appear challenging for people to embrace. He shared this insight during his sermon at the August Edition of the Leadership Empowerment Summit.
While teaching about receiving supernatural grace for effective stewardship, Bishop Oyedepo explained that he presents hard teachings because he believes that greatness requires a certain level of hardness.
“Why all these hard teachings? What is the problem,” he said. “To get you up to your high places. Trainers don’t spare trainees in sport. In fact the harder the training, the greater the glory.”
He recounted a revelation he had while reading a book by AW Tozer, where he came to understand that the more resolutely a believer follows God, the higher they soar.
“Joy filled my soul when I heard him say the harder you follow me, the higher you fly,” Bishop Oyedepo expressed.
Drawing from Paul’s letter to Timothy, where endurance through hardships was encouraged, he emphasized that only counterfeit soldiers fear difficult circumstances. He stressed that certain levels of hard teachings and responses are necessary to attain the things one truly needs.
In essence, Bishop David Oyedepo revealed that his challenging teachings are intended to propel individuals to greater heights and fulfill their potential in God’s plan for their lives.
