Dispatch Rider Charged With Stealing N40.5 Million

Philip Samson, a 40-year-old dispatch rider, was detained for reportedly fleeing with $45,000, or about N40.5 million, which belonged to a company in Lagos.

According to sources, the dispatcher had worked for the business for 15 years before to the incident.

According to a police source, the delivery person found that some of the giant size packages that management had given him for delivery to a client included foreign currency.

Later, the dispatch rider was apprehended in the village he had fled to with the money in Kogi State.

The informant claimed that after earning his employer’s trust, the suspect began making preparations to flee with their money.

The opportunity, according to the source, came up a few weeks ago when his boss handed him a large package for delivery as per normal, only for him to flee with the cash, which the police estimated to be worth $45,000.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, who verified the arrest, claimed that the company had complained to the command when they were unable to locate the dispatcher.

According to Hundeyin, “A complaint was made alleging that a company’s dispatch rider stole a package containing $45,000 in funds intended for office usage.
