In an exciting move, Kebbi State’s dynamic Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has taken a giant step toward boosting workplace comfort and efficiency. He just inked a groundbreaking N10 billion deal with two top-notch companies. This strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signifies the continuation of the awe-inspiring Ultra Modern Secretariat Complex construction in the heart of Birnin Kebbi.
Picture the scene: Governor Idris proudly sealed the MOU during an important gathering at the Government House council chamber. This happened shortly after a historic State Executive Council (SEC) meeting. Driven by a strong desire to streamline the civil service and dissolve any lingering worker concerns, Idris sees this contract as a beacon of progress.
Why is this project so special? Well, Governor Idris is all about fostering a harmonious environment for the diligent workers. This is a tangible part of his unwavering commitment. With a firm nudge to the contractors, he’s set a clear target for them to meet – an impressive 18 months.
A quick rewind: Let’s remember that the story of this grand project began in 2013 when Rockwell Nigeria Limited snagged the initial deal for N3.8 billion. It was the brainchild of the visionary Governor at the time, Alhaji Saidu Usman Dakingari. However, the journey took a twist with fluctuating goods prices, leading to a revised price tag of N7.7 billion in November 2014.
Progress was undeniable, hitting the 50% mark by December 2015. But alas, momentum fizzled out, and the project was left unattended.
This is where Governor Idris’ people-first approach takes center stage. With workers’ wellbeing a top priority, the project baton has been passed to two stellar companies: MTECH Universal Concept Limited and ZBCC Limited. Together, they’re taking on the ambitious task of transforming the project’s “Lot A and Lot B” at a whopping cost of over N10 billion. They’re on a mission to make magic happen in just 18 months.
In a candid chat with the media, Engr. Manir Jega, the Project Manager at MTECH Universal Concept Limited, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for entrusting local talents with this mission. He assured, “With determination and expertise, we’re geared to deliver top-notch quality and speed, respecting every deadline. Our track record includes remarkable projects, including successful rice mills across the nation.”
Buckle up, Kebbi State – your modern secretariat is on the horizon, promising an era of improved workspaces and enhanced productivity. With Governor Idris at the helm, this venture is destined for greatness.
