The military is conducting a mass burial for personnel who lost their lives in an ambush and subsequent air crash in Niger state. On August 14, 2023, bandits ambushed troops in Niger state, resulting in the death of 14 soldiers and injuries to seven others. This incident led to the deployment of an Air Force evacuation aircraft. Tragically, the aircraft crashed, claiming the lives of all passengers including two pilots and two crew members.
