Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to the ongoing turmoil within the party’s leadership.
As previously reported by Naija News, the discord emerged after the announcement of the new National Working Committee (NWC) and zonal officers.
Several state chapters of the party opposed the candidates nominated by the NWC, led by Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State.
This situation prompted the intervention of Yahaya Bello, the Governor of Kogi State, along with certain legislators from the state. They made a visit to the party’s national secretariat to halt the induction of Duro Mesoko, who had been chosen for the Deputy National Publicity Secretary role.
Contrary to these developments, the Kogi State APC released a statement on Thursday denying their endorsement of Mesoko for the aforementioned position.
To ensure law and order, law enforcement personnel were strategically stationed around and within the party’s secretariat.
After a private discussion with Governor Bello in Abuja, Ganduje spoke to journalists, assuring that the dispute would be resolved amicably. He asserted that all disparities would be addressed and reconciled.
Ganduje also conveyed his confidence in Governor Bello’s capability to secure victory for the APC in the upcoming November 11 gubernatorial election in Kogi State.
Governor Bello echoed his faith in the party’s leadership, emphasizing his belief that the APC would successfully maintain its position within the state.
