In anticipation of the Election Petition Tribunal’s forthcoming verdict, the Kano State Government organized a special prayer gathering on Saturday, seeking divine intervention for the current administration’s continued tenure.
Led by Dr. Sani Ashiru, Chief Imam of Kofar Nasarawa mosque, the session aimed to invoke blessings of peace, justice, and harmony not only for the state but for the entire nation.
Dr. Ashiru offered prayers expressing gratitude for Allah’s blessings and mercy, particularly in the context of the 2023 general elections. The prayers also extended to acknowledge the safety and security of communities, state, and country, along with the prosperity and progress experienced in local businesses.
He commended the state government’s efforts in providing essential amenities, including piped water and restored streetlights throughout the state. Additionally, he highlighted the administration’s initiative in facilitating over 57,000 student registrations for the National Examinations Council (NECO) at a cost of about N1.3 billion.
The Imam beseeched Allah’s protection and guidance for elected leaders at both state and federal levels. He implored divine intervention against any adversaries seeking to undermine the leaders’ mandates and schemes to disrupt the state’s progress.
The prayers echoed a collective appeal for the preservation of peace and unity, calling for the defeat of those attempting to subvert the democratic process. The session epitomized the spiritual aspirations of the people for a stable and progressive future.
