President Bola Tinubu has expressed concerns over Nigeria’s debt situation, highlighting that the country cannot sustain servicing its debt with 90 percent of its revenue. Speaking at the Annual Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, Tinubu emphasized that such a path is unsustainable and could lead the country to destruction. He urged for difficult but necessary changes to be made to secure the nation’s future and elevate it among great nations.
Tinubu also addressed the issue of inadequate electricity supply in Nigeria, calling it shameful and asserting that poverty cannot be addressed without a stable power supply. He pledged to address this issue, emphasizing that a reliable electricity supply is essential for poverty reduction and economic development.
He also stressed the importance of providing world-class salaries and benefits for legal professionals in Nigeria to drive true justice reform.
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yakubu Maikyau, expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to deliver good governance based on his successful track record as the former governor of Lagos State.
