Oluwaseun Adebayo, a man, was remanded in custody at the Sagamu Correctional Center on Tuesday for allegedly beating and removing Esther Odusanya’s dreadlocks in Awosanya Street, in front of the Iyaloja House, in Ajaka, Sagamu.
Adebayo was charged with three counts of assault and causing bodily harm before Sagamu Magistrate’s Court Senior Magistrate Omolara Osanyin.
According to information, Adebayo allegedly attacked Esther with fist strikes and pulled out her dreadlocks on Saturday, causing physical pain and suffering to the victim.
The charge against the defendant reads, “That you, Adebayo Oluwaseun, on the 26th day of August 2023, at about 1105 a.m. at Awosanya street, opposite Iyaloja house, Ajaka, Sagamu in the Sagamu Magisterial district did unlawfully abused one, Odusanya Olaoluwa Esther by beating her over her face and over her head resulting in bodily harm and thereby committed offence punishable under section 355 of the criminal code of Ogun state of Nigeria 2006. “That you, Adebayo Oluwaseun, unlawfully and inherently assaulted one Odusanya Olaoluwa Esther on the same date, time, and place in the mentioned magisterial district, by beating her with fist blows all over her body, and thus committed an offence punishable under Section 360 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun state.
