Dr. Dk Olukoya, the esteemed founder and presiding General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries located in Yaba, has shared a message on his official Facebook page. This message was originally delivered at the international headquarters of the ministry during their monthly program known as “Power Must Change Hands.” In this sermon titled “Dealing With Cryptic Demons,” Dr. Olukoya sheds light on the existence of negative spirits that dwell within the lives of numerous believers.
According to the cleric, he expounded upon this concept in the video between the timestamps of 03:26:26 to 03:28:30, remarking, “Bad spirits are indeed dwelling within the lives of many believers, and this is a matter of utmost seriousness.” He highlighted the threefold nature of a human being, explaining that a person consists of a spirit residing in a physical body and possessing a soul. He further clarified that the physical body, comprising flesh, bones, and blood, can come under the influence of malevolent spirits while the spiritual essence remains unaffected.
Dr. Olukoya went on to explain that the mind, or the mental faculties, can also fall under the control of negative spirits, as can the soul, while the body and the spirit maintain their autonomy. He elaborated on the concept of possession, obsession, and oppression, describing possession as a condition where an external spirit enters an individual, suppresses their true spirit, and assumes control over their actions. This phenomenon often results in the afflicted person exhibiting behavior that is markedly different from their usual character. Dr. Olukoya further noted that possession is a severe issue, sometimes leading to cases seen in psychiatric hospitals.
As revealed by the cleric, “If the spirit comes under the control of evil spirits, that is what people call possession, obsession, and oppression. A situation where a spirit enters into a person, suppresses the person and becomes another thing representing the person, is what is referred to as possession. It is a terrible thing indeed. It is the major case you find in Psychiatric hospitals. This is a kind of spirit you find that enters a person, suppresses the normal spirit that is in the person hence, the person begins to exhibit a different character”.
