Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, demonstrated his commitment to supporting the families of fallen Nigerian Air Force officers by presenting a N5 million cheque to the family of Lance Corporal Goselle Nanpon, who tragically lost his life earlier this year. The airman was killed when a truck lost control and crushed him in Ilorin.
At a ceremony held at the 303 Medium Airlift Group, Nigerian Air Force Base in Ilorin, the Governor, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Muyideen Aliu, made the presentation to offer relief and support to the bereaved family.
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed deep condolences over Nanpon’s untimely demise, emphasizing that his death represented a significant loss not only to Kwara State but also to the entire nation. He encouraged the grieving family to find solace in the knowledge that the late NAF officer had led a purposeful life.
In response, Captain Dan Apyeyak, the Commander of the 303 Medium Airlift Group, NAF, conveyed his gratitude to the Governor for the generous gesture. He commended the administration for recognizing the dedicated service of uniformed personnel and for its unwavering support.
Apyeyak reiterated the unit’s commitment to ensuring the security and peace of Kwara State and the nation as a whole, emphasizing that development thrives in a society where there is peace and security.
The N5 million cheque was received on behalf of the Nanpon family by Goselle’s younger brother, who is the designated next-of-kin.
