The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Bello Mohammed, who specialized in snatching motorcycles. Mohammed, also known as Faruk Manja, is a resident of Bakaro Area in Bauchi metropolis. He and his accomplice, Kabiru Danfulani (who is currently at large), have been involved in motorcycle theft for over four years, terrorizing Bauchi and Yobe states.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, revealed that the suspect confessed to stealing over 20 motorcycles during their criminal activities over the years. Their latest crime involved breaking into a residence in the Old Airport Road area of GRA, Bauchi, and stealing a Honda Civic worth N640,000, along with a skeletal motorcycle.
Luck ran out for the thieves when the victim reported the incident to the police. Law enforcement swung into action and arrested Mohammed while he attempted to escape with the stolen vehicle.
The stolen vehicle and motorcycle have been recovered, and an investigation is ongoing. Efforts are being intensified to arrest the accomplice, Kabiru Danfulani. Once caught, the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
