The Joint Security Task Force acting in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State has freed no less than 33 hostages from their captors.
They were taken captive a few days ago by gunmen who carried them into the wilderness as they waited for the family to pay a ransom.
The joint security unit, however, engaged the bandits on the orders of the LGA-born governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, and successfully secured the safe release of all 33 of the abducted victims.
The 33 abducted victims were handed back to caretaker chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area Bala Mahmoud on Friday evening by security personnel in the governor’s hometown of Yalwan Duguri.
Mahmoud praised the security agencies for their prompt response to the situation that resulted in the victims’ release from captivity.
The Caretaker Chairman gave the 33 freed kidnapping victims his word that before taking any further action, they would all be examined by doctors to make sure they were in excellent condition.
