Splash FM 105.5 Ibadan, a radio station in Oyo State, has decided to suspend the broadcast of songs by Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, until further notice. This decision comes in response to the controversy surrounding Naira Marley following the passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as MohBad.
The announcement was made via a post on social media, specifically on X (formerly Twitter), by one of the station’s presenters, Aderonke Adesola. According to the post, the station’s management has placed Naira Marley’s songs on the “Not to Be Broadcast” list on their radio frequency. The post emphasized that this action is being taken due to the sensitivity of the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s death and the ongoing police investigation.
The post stated: “Good evening team. In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad and the criminal procedure, the police have commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion. To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB ( not to be broadcast) on our station till further notice. This is with immediate effect. Thank you.”
