EFCC Names Oyewale New Spokesperson

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulkarim Chukkol, has announced the appointment of renowned journalist Dele Oyewale as the official spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, effective immediately from Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Findwhosabi has reported on this development, revealing that Dele Oyewale has been designated as the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, while the former spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, has been reassigned to the position of acting Director of Public Affairs.

In exclusive letters dated Thursday, September 28, which were obtained by our correspondent, this significant reshuffle within the EFCC’s communication team was unveiled.

Upon reaching out to Wilson Uwujaren for confirmation, he affirmed the news, stating, “Yes, I’ve been appointed as the acting Director of Public Affairs for the EFCC.”

Dele Oyewale, who boasts a distinguished career as a journalist, has contributed to several highly respected Nigerian dailies, including The News, Tempo, PM News, and Tell Magazine. His exceptional work earned him accolades from the Nigerian Media Merit Awards, where he was recognized as the Industry Reporter of the Year for 2002 and 2003, Business Reporter of the Year for 2003 and 2005, Aviation Reporter of the Year for 2004 and 2005, and Banking and Finance Reporter of the Year for 2005.

Oyewale’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State. He furthered his studies by obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigeria Institute of Journalism and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Oyo State.
