The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reported that the air components of operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji executed a series of successful air strikes, eliminating numerous terrorists in their hideouts across the conflict zones.
In a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF detailed the outcomes of these operations in a press release on Sunday in Abuja.
Gabkwet stated that the air component conducted air interdiction missions at a recently identified terrorists’ hideout near Bukar Meram, situated close to the Lake Chad region in Borno State, in the early hours of Saturday.
These strikes were deemed necessary after intelligence indicated the relocation of terrorists from Suwa to the Bukar Meram area, with the intent to mount possible attacks on ground troops and civilians.
The NAF’s efforts in Bukar Meram resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists, along with the destruction of over 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks, according to the statement.
Similarly, on October 11, the air component of Operation Haradin Daji launched air strikes against terrorists in the Sangeko axis of Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara State. The terrorists, riding in a convoy of approximately 70 motorcycles along the Kabaro-Sangeko road, were engaged and neutralized, with their motorcycles destroyed and others sustaining injuries.
Air Commodore Gabkwet conveyed the commendations of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, praising the professionalism and dedication of the air components. Abubakar emphasized the importance of continued focus and commitment to providing confidence and security to citizens.
In these operations, the NAF has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to counter-terrorism efforts and protect the nation’s security.
