Gunmen kidnapped the wife and two children of Mr. Lawal Ayanshola Soliu, a member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, on Monday.
Around 1:00 am, the alleged kidnappers raided the legislator’s country residence in Shao, Kwara State’s Moro local government area, brandishing AK-47 rifles and firing randomly before snatching the victims away.
The All Progressives Congress politician Lawal represents the Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru state constituency of the Moro Local Government in the state house of assembly.
The insider added that as of Tuesday afternoon, it was still unknown where the victims were.
One of the kidnappers who got in touch with the family claimed he wasn’t yet with his comrades in the bush to agree on a ransom.
On Tuesday, no one picked up when calls were placed to the congressman.
Ajayi Okasanmi, a spokesman for the Kwara State Police Command, verified the event when reached.
Details are still vague, but I’ll check back as soon as we get complete information about the situation, he added.
