Several students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have taken legal action against the state governor, Seyi Makinde, and others over the relocation of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. The move has stirred controversy as second-year students were instructed to move to the Iseyin Campus.
In a suit filed in Oyo State, the students are seeking an order to prevent the relocation and the return of all established courses to the main campus. The suit lists the Commissioner for Education, the acting Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, and the Provost of the Iseyin campus as defendants.
The Commissioner for Education, Salihu Adelabu, stated that he had not received any petition regarding the matter. The Public Relations Officer of LAUTECH, Olalekan Fabiyi, also claimed not to be aware of the petition.
