Singer Davido has responded to criticism for discontinuing plans to assist a female hawker initially discovered by Brain Jotter. The skit maker had found a disabled lady by the roadside hawking, and Davido had pledged help after learning she was from Osun state, where his uncle is a governor.
However, it was later revealed that the hawker, thought to be a female, was actually a man named Sultan from Osogbo. Despite having been assisted off the street multiple times, he continued returning to roadside hawking.
Upon discovering the deception, Davido took to social media, declaring an end to plans to help the hawker/scammer, stating, “Excellency dem job us!! Dem say nah man ABORT MISSION 😂😂.”
Some on social media questioned Davido’s decision not to offer assistance, arguing that regardless of the scam, the individual in question is genuinely disabled and in need of help.
In response to a netizen named Abiodu. A Adeleke, who suggested Davido should still help the boy, Davido urged him to take on the responsibility himself, pointing out their shared Adeleke surname.
