Abdulsalami Committee: Vote-buying, violence dey vex for off-cycle polls

The National Peace Committee wey General Abdulsalami Abubakar dey lead, don yan on Thursday say dem dey vex for the way way violence, intimidation, and vote-buying waka enter di off-cycle governorship elections for Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states wey happen last Saturday.

Dem talk for one statement on Thursday say, “We don see the kasala wey happen during the elections, and e pain us well-well. We don observe say some of the old bad habits still dey, and ordinary people still dey follow corrupt people spoil our elections process.”

Dem continue talk say, “The way way people still dey buy vote, intimidate voters, and people no dey show interest for election matter, e dey worry us. If we really want make democracy grow, we suppose join hand waka clean our election process, because if we allow the process dey corrupt, e go cause make bad leaders come out, and we go suffer am.”

Even though dem yan all dis one, dem still talk say dem dey thankful to all the people wey waka make sure say the elections happen well. Dem thank INEC staff, security people, traditional rulers, political party leaders, NGOs, civil society groups, media people, and others wey make the elections for di three states happen well.

Dem still yan thank you to the people wey vote, say dem waka well even with all the obstacles and threats. Dem encourage the people say make dem still dey strong, and make dem use the experience wey dem gather correct any mistake wey dey our election process.
