In a recent development, the Kaduna State Police Command has successfully arrested a suspected thief with a penchant for stealing goats in Pasali Konu village of Kagarko Local Government Area. The arrest, made on Saturday, underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to curb criminal activities in the region.

According to ASP Mansur Hassan, the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, the arrest was carried out by a surveillance team and vigilante members during a visibility patrol on November 11 at approximately 0430hrs. The 20-year-old suspect, a resident of Igwa village in Kagarko LGA, was apprehended with dangerous weapons and a facemask.

Hassan disclosed that the suspect, who confessed to specializing in goat theft, was part of a duo attempting to pilfer goats from the village. When the patrol team approached, the accomplice managed to flee the scene, leaving the arrested suspect in custody.

“The other suspect who is at large ran to an unknown destination, but we will trail him and arrest him,” assured Hassan.

The police spokesperson further stated that the preliminary investigations would be conducted, and the arrested suspect would subsequently face charges in court. Hassan took the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the command to eradicate all forms of criminality in the state. He urged the public to provide timely and useful information, enabling proactive measures to prevent and address criminal activities swiftly.
