A man entered the Walmart in Beavercreek, Ohio, on Monday night and began shooting, according to authorities in the Dayton neighborhood. Four people were shot. According to the authorities, the victims’ conditions were unknown when they were brought to local hospitals.
The gunman appears to have shot himself, according to police, and no rounds were fired by the authorities.
His identity was kept a secret, and his motivation was not made apparent.
A man told reporters in Ohio, that he heard five or six rounds fired, hid, then heard several more shots fired while the gunman was still close.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families impacted by this horrific tragedy,” the police stated.
“We’re heartbroken by what’s happened at our Beavercreek, Ohio, store,” a statement from Walmart said. As things continue to unfold, we’re collaborating closely with the on-site detectives.”
Police said they were looking for a suspect after two people were shot and died on Sunday night outside a Walmart in south Anchorage, Alaska.
The deaths of a man and a woman were discovered by police in the parking lot close to the store’s entrance, behind two trucks. In a statement released late on Sunday night, police added that a gun had also been discovered.
