Liverpool Salvages Draw Against City; Newcastle Stuns Chelsea 4-1

In a highly anticipated clash, Liverpool secured a late equalizer against Manchester City with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s strike, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Earlier, Erling Haaland marked his 50th Premier League goal, extending City’s impressive home winning streak. However, Alexander-Arnold’s late goal denied City a 24th consecutive home victory.

The draw allows third-placed Arsenal to potentially take the lead if they win against Brentford in the late game. Jurgen Klopp acknowledged the tough contest, stating, “For the moment we’re in, we should take the point as a success.”

Meanwhile, at St James’ Park, Newcastle, facing injury challenges and naming three goalkeepers on the bench, defeated Chelsea 4-1. Alexander Isak, Raheem Sterling, Jamaal Lascelles, and Joelinton contributed to Newcastle’s rampant performance, securing a resounding victory. Chelsea’s Reece James received a red card, adding to their woes.

In other Premier League matches, Luton secured their first home league win this season with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. West Ham staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Burnley 2-1, and Brighton won 3-2 against Nottingham Forest, with Joao Pedro playing a key role.

Bournemouth also emerged victorious, with Marcus Tavernier scoring twice in a 3-1 win against Sheffield United. Justin Kluivert’s notable strike made him the third player to score in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, and the Bundesliga.
