Public Backlash Leads to Cancellation of Portable and Pasuma’s Church Performance

The Celestial Church of Christ has withdrawn its invitation to Habeeb Oyegbile, also known as Portable, and Pasuma to perform at an upcoming praise night due to widespread public disapproval.

Originally slated to appear on the fliers for the event, the inclusion of the Streets Hop singer and the Fuji artist faced criticism from social media users. The head of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Olatosho Oshoffa, expressed his objection on Facebook and promptly notified the parish president to cancel the artists’ performances.

His post read, “Dear Celestians, I have just had a lengthy conversation with the Shepherd in Charge of the aforementioned Parish. He has promised to amend the posters. He has assured me that the aforementioned musicians in question won’t be attending the praise night. Without a doubt, that particular poster is highly unacceptable. God bless CCC. Amen.”

The decision has been welcomed by church members, who assert that the church is not an appropriate venue for secular music or entertainment.
