Bandits Kill Seven in Sokoto State Attacks

Between Friday and Saturday, suspected bandits reportedly attacked two communities in Sokoto State, resulting in the death of at least seven people. The incidents occurred in the Kojiyo community in Goronyo Local Government and Gwamatase village in Wurno Local Government. While the police confirmed three deaths with one person injured, they could not immediately verify the reported attack in Kojiwo ward, Goronyo Local Government, where five people were allegedly killed, and several were abducted.

The police spokesman, ASP Ahmed Rufai, stated that he would provide further information once he confirms the reported attack in Kojiwo. According to an anonymous resident, the attack in Kojiwo took place on Saturday evening, resulting in the immediate killing of five residents and the abduction of several others. The situation underscores the ongoing security challenges posed by banditry in various parts of Nigeria, particularly in the Northwest region.
