Spain Coach Says Lamine Yamal Has a Bright Future

Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has said that Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal still has a long way to go in his career.

Speaking ahead of Spain’s international friendly against Egypt, De la Fuente emphasized that Yamal is in a development phase and continues to improve every day.

“He’s in a development phase and is contributing more and more to the team with each passing day,” De la Fuente said. “He has a long way to go, and his best version is yet to come.”

This season, the 18-year-old has scored 21 goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions for Barcelona.

Yamal also finished in second place in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings, behind winner Ousmane Dembele.
