Sanwo-Olu Urges Selfless Health Service

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on health workers to maintain their selfless dedication to service in order to ensure a healthy state. The governor made this plea during a program organized by Alimosho General Hospital to celebrate Christmas with patients on admission. Represented by Dorcas Shonibare, the Director of Nursing Service, Lagos State Ministry of Health, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the hospital’s management and staff for consistently delivering quality service to the people of Lagos.

Acknowledging the significance of Alimosho General Hospital as one of the fastest-growing healthcare facilities in the state, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the enormity of patients attended to and urged health workers to remain devoted to their duties. He expressed appreciation for their efforts and encouraged them to continue their exemplary service.

“We appreciate what you are doing, and we want you to continue to do more,” Governor Sanwo-Olu affirmed, assuring that the challenges highlighted by the hospital would be addressed to further enhance its capacity. He also reiterated the state government’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of health workers.

Dr. Ayodapo Soyinka, the Medical Director of Alimosho General Hospital, explained that the Christmas program aimed to spread love to patients despite their health challenges. Represented by Dr. Jane Bakare, Director of Clinical Services and Training, Dr. Soyinka expressed gratitude for the state government’s support throughout the year and called for additional assistance to address ongoing challenges.

“We are in the season of love, and that is why we are extending love to our patients this season,” Dr. Soyinka said. He commended the hospital’s departments for working as a team despite challenges and listed some needs, including more manpower, a 1000 KV generator, rehabilitation of the doctors’ quarters, equipment, and the relocation of the refuse dump.

As part of the Christmas celebration, gifts were distributed to patients in various wards, enhancing the festive spirit within the hospital.
