Akeredolu’s Daughter Blocks Press, Explains Reasons

In a dramatic turn of events, Ololade, the daughter of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, reportedly asked journalists to leave her father’s private residence in Ibadan. The journalists had come to cover condolence visits from the chairman and vice chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, and Seyi Makinde, respectively.
Ololade asserted that the Ibadan residence was a private property and not a government house, contending that journalists had no right to lay siege to the family’s private space. This incident occurred during the period of mourning and condolences following the death of Governor Akeredolu.
The daughter’s actions raised questions about the media’s access to private residences during such times, highlighting the delicate balance between public interest and the privacy rights of grieving families.
