Gov.Adeleke swears Tinubu can never support looting

Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu will never allow the stealing of public assets.

He commented in reaction to the Osun All Progressives Congress’s (APC) charges over the recently produced White Paper.
APC leaders in the state have urged President Bola Tinubu and security forces to assist in rescuing the state from Governor Adeleke and his ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
On January 18, 2024, the Osun State Government produced a White Paper on traditional rulers and the retrieval of public assets allegedly taken away by political appointees during the Adegboyega Oyetola government.

According to Governor Adeleke’s spokeswoman, Olawale Rasheed, “the President has always commended him for clearing up the mess he encountered in Osun,” while adding that President Tinubu despises robbery of public assets.

“I’ve had several interactions with President Tinubu, and I know he appreciates my efforts to clean up the many messes I discovered in Osun.

“The President’s actions demonstrate that he is a man of due process and would never accept the plunder of public assets. It is therefore sad that the Osun APC is displaying acts that are contradictory to the President’s style of government.

“Moreso, at the outset of our government, I established an Asset Recovery Committee, and the majority of those with government properties were notified of the need to return them.
“It is now the report of the committee I’m acting on as demanded by the good people of the state.”
While claiming to manage the state without partisanship, Governor Adeleke said that he has not brought any political foe to the attention of anti-graft agencies, even when there are strong reasons to do so.

While requesting the previous administration’s appointees in the state to return any government properties in their care, Adeleke stated that his administration will stop at nothing to retrieve all looted government properties.
