Makinde, Olubadan Reject Claim of Removal Plot

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, have dismissed claims suggesting there is a plan to remove the traditional ruler from his position.

The allegation was made by former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, who claimed on social media that there were moves to issue a query over the monarch’s absence at a recent traditional event and other issues.

Reacting to the claim, the media aide to the Olubadan, Adeola Oloko, described the report as baseless, saying there is no conflict between the governor and the traditional ruler.

He said, “It will be most unfortunate if it is not a rumour. I don’t see the cause of friction between the governor and Olubadan of Ibadanland.”

The Oyo State Commissioner for Information also denied the allegation, stating that the government has never discussed, considered, or planned any action to remove the monarch.

He added that the claim should not be taken seriously and described it as false political information meant to cause confusion.
