Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has stated that if Rabiu Kwankwaso joins the ruling party, he will be the “grandfather” of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, presidential candidate for 2023.
Addressing APC supporters in Kano, Ganduje stated, “If you have an APC membership card, you are a subordinate and follower of the national leader.”
“If you defect to APC now, you become our subject and follower. It is vital to emphasize that the head of the house is responsible for both a child of the household and a foreigner.
“The person with something to share invites others. The one with nothing to offer is looking for a place to enter. Please lend me your ears; I’d like to tell you a story.
“36 states and Abuja, wherever I go, I am the King, the Sheikh, Modibbo, and Alanguburo. So, the same thing happens at home.
“We are requesting that the NNPP pack those perishable fruits in a refrigerator so that they do not ‘get ruined’ or decay.
“As I told you people, whoever you are and your status in the party even if you are ‘Jagora’ (leader) once you come to APC then your grandfather is here!”
Kwankwaso is known as Jagora among Kwankwasiyya members in Kano and other parts of the country.
President Bola Tinubu is reportedly seeking to reconcile Ganduje and Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
