The Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun Corps, in Ondo State has detained 31 people for various alleged offenses throughout the state’s 18 Local Government Areas.
Mr Adetunji Adeleye, Commander of the Amotekun Corps, made this remark while paradeing the suspects before reporters in Akure on Wednesday.
Adeleye stated that the individuals were arrested for alleged kidnapping, illegal firearm possession, and shop and housebreaking.
According to the commander, the corps would not let up in its attempts to clear the state of criminal groups.
He added that the administration was determined to ensure that investors, farmers, citizens, and commuters could move freely around the state without fear of being attacked by hoodlums.
Adeleye stated that the Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa-led government had asked the leaders of the state’s security agencies to apprehend criminals who had been disrupting public order.
“We want to reassure the good people of Ondo State that Amotekun is safe, and we will continue our 24-hour patrol.”
