Seun Kuti: Nothing Will Change In 3 Years –

Expressing a lack of optimism, Kuti stated, “In the next 3 years and 3 years left of the administration, nothing much will change for the Nigerian people. Things are worse, and nothing more would change because it is hidden in plain sight.”

Kuti attributed many of Nigeria’s challenges to the insufficient reinvestment of wealth by those in control back into the populace. He emphasized the importance of investing in areas like education, pointing out that without support, graduates in fields such as history would struggle to find suitable employment opportunities.

The musician also highlighted the lack of investment in the cultural and creative industry in Nigeria, drawing a comparison with Europe where significant art centers receive financial support. Kuti questioned the absence of such support in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for investment in these crucial sectors.

Reflecting on the pre-election period, Kuti expressed disillusionment with the choices presented to the Nigerian people, noting the similarity in promises made by different candidates. He criticized the lack of diversity in their policies, referring to them as “confined to anti-African policies.”
