The All Progressives Congress, or APC, held a gubernatorial primary in Edo State last Saturday, and controversy still surrounds the results. As a result, the state chapter of the APC Renewed Hope Coalition has urged all candidates to unite and back Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
The call was made on Monday at a news conference in Benin City by the group’s chairman, Steven Jim.
He believed that it was critical for all party members to unite behind the victor, even though he acknowledged that there is no disagreement within the party in the state.
He continued by saying that victory in the September 21 governorship race will only be assured if party members and other contenders unite behind the primary winner.
“It is a known fact that Edo State is APC, and APC is Edo State,” he asserted. We’ll exert every effort to reclaim our state. We need to unite behind our governorship candidate, the Honorable Dennis Idahosa, in order to accomplish this.
Dennis Idahosa’s victory in the Edo State primary is evidence of the APC’s dedication to advancing competence and excellence in government.
“Our party, the APC, has proven that it is committed to prioritizing the will of the people and choosing candidates based on their qualifications, vision, and capacity to serve the people.”
He praised the National Working Committee and the Imo State governorship primary electoral committee, headed by Governor Hope Uzodimma, for their steadfast dedication to preserving the democratic principles that formed the basis of the country.
