Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has named Basirat Damilola Marshall, daughter of Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM1), as his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism.
In a viral video capturing KWAM1’s gratitude towards the governor during a performance at the coronation and birthday reception of Oba Sikirullah Apena, he publicly acknowledged Sanwo-Olu for appointing his daughter into the state’s cabinet.
Expressing joy over the appointment, Nigerians flooded social media platforms with congratulatory messages, with one user, Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu, praising Damilola for her dedication and contributions to the party.
Responding to the outpouring of well-wishes, Damilola, also known as Barr. @damimarshall_, expressed gratitude for the recognition.
Further celebrations ensued, with Balogun Basia extending felicitations to KWAM1 and the entire family, predicting a bright future for Damilola and her siblings.
Prior to her government role, Damilola served as a principal partner at Damilola Ayinde Marshal and Co., a law firm.
Despite attempts to confirm the appointment through messages to the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, no response has been received at the time of this report.
