Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, celebrated Children’s Day by hosting over 500 schoolchildren at the State House on May 27. This marked her first Children’s Day celebration as first lady since her husband, President Bola Tinubu, assumed office.
Under the theme “Our Children, Our Future,” Mrs. Tinubu emphasized the importance of love, care, and compassion for children, encouraging them to dream big and pursue greatness. She highlighted the significance of education, curiosity, and continuous learning in shaping their future.
During the event, cultural presentations were showcased, and Mrs. Tinubu announced the upcoming launch of the Young Farmers Club in public schools nationwide. This initiative aims to promote farming among young people, with rewards for schools excelling in agricultural activities.
The event, attended by dignitaries including the wife of the Senate President and wives of service chiefs, also saw participating schools receive grants of ₦10 million each from the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to support their developmental needs.
