The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has characterized President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office as “tumultuous.” However, the group commended Tinubu’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s infrastructure, agricultural development, and enhanced security since taking office.
MACBAN’s National President, Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, conveyed the commendation in a congratulatory letter to President Tinubu. Ngelzarma praised Tinubu’s courage, conviction, and vision to elevate Nigeria, highlighting his efforts in infrastructure development, agriculture, and security.
Tinubu’s agenda on agriculture, aimed at achieving food security, received particular appreciation from MACBAN. The group emphasized the potential of the livestock industry to create millions of jobs for Nigerian youth, urging Tinubu to fulfill promises such as establishing a ministry for livestock and a livestock implementation committee.
MACBAN also appealed to Tinubu to support the National Commission for Nomadic Education and address concerns regarding the profiling and extortion of innocent pastoralists. The group pledged continued support for Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s institutional frameworks and make the country a beacon of innovation and productivity in Africa.
