A Nigerian bride has shared her heartbreaking story of going blind just hours before her wedding, after being given the wrong prescription eye drops. In a video trending online, she explained how her eyes turned red from wedding preparation stress, prompting her to visit a pharmacy 36 hours before the big day.
Following the pharmacist’s advice, she used the prescribed eye drops before bed, only to wake up blind the next morning. Her pupils were dilated, her vision was blurry, and she could only see vague shapes. She immediately returned to the pharmacy, where the pharmacist on duty was puzzled by the prescription she had received, as the eye drops were intended for use in eye surgeries or detailed ophthalmologic examinations.
The bride was rushed to an optometrist, who confirmed that her sight would not return in time for the wedding. Despite this devastating news, she proceeded with the ceremony partially blind. Reflecting on the ordeal, she expressed her sorrow but remained resilient, stating, “The devil tried but he failed.”
