Vice President Kashim Shettima has revealed that Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), sought assistance from President Bola Tinubu after being ousted from his party. Speaking at the 3rd Expanded National MSMEs Clinic in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, Shettima praised Tinubu’s longstanding support for northern politicians and his dedication to enhancing governance in Nigeria.
Shettima emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to democracy, noting his significant sacrifices for the country’s political stability. He stated, “When Atiku Abubakar was harassed and chased out of the PDP, it was to Tinubu he ran for support, which he received to contest for the presidency.” He also mentioned that Tinubu had supported other notable figures, including the current National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, in their political pursuits.
Addressing the MSMEs Clinic, Shettima highlighted the event’s role in uniting regulators, business owners, and investors, with participation from various government agencies such as SMEDAN, NEXIM, ITF, and NAFDAC.
