Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been appointed the new Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, succeeding the late Ondo State Governor, Ogbeni Rotimi Akeredolu. The appointment was made during a crucial meeting of the six South-West governors at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
After the meeting, Sanwo-Olu briefed state house correspondents, confirming his new role but remaining silent on the ongoing minimum wage controversy between the Federal Government and Organised Labour. He stated that the governors are awaiting the outcome of negotiations between the parties involved.
In other developments, Governor Sanwo-Olu inaugurated 270 two-bedroom flats in Lagos as part of his administration’s efforts to reduce the state’s housing deficit. He emphasized the government’s commitment to partnering with the private sector to build more affordable housing estates across Lagos.
